Leviticus 16:1 NLT
”The Lord spoke to Moses after the death of Aaron’s two sons, who died after they entered the Lord’s presence and burned the wrong kind of fire before him.“
‭‭
No transfer of annoyance
In today’s referenced scripture, we read that God spoke to Moses after a horrible incident occurred. It is worth noting that the conversation was not condemnation. This demonstrates that God does not pour out annoyance for the misdeeds of others on Moses. We must follow this example in our relationships and avoid transferring negative emotions to others. The fact that God spoke about the condition surrounding the death of Aaron’s sons implied that He did not like what they did and what happened to them.

Furthermore, God is just and fair in His dealings with humanity. He does not punish people without a just cause. When He does punish, it is because someone has gone against His laws. In the story of Aaron’s sons, they were punished because they entered God’s presence and offered a type of fire that He had forbidden. This punishment serves as a reminder that we should always be mindful of God’s instructions and strive to live our lives in a way that pleases Him.

We need to take God’s instructions seriously and not for granted. If we truly love God, we should strive to do things not for our pleasure but for His. This means that we should make an effort to align our actions with God’s will and purpose. In doing so, we can experience the joy and peace that comes from living a life that is pleasing to God.

Prayer
Jehovah Shaphat, You are the righteous Judge. Please be merciful unto me and help me to always perform my duties for Your pleasure alone. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
