Accountability in private matters!
During my childhood, I used to evade taking responsibility for my actions. If I accidentally broke a glass or any other item, I would quickly shift the blame to someone else. For instance, I’d blame the person who had used the item before me, stating that they had not placed it properly, causing it to fall. I also blamed external factors like my footwear whenever I dropped anything.
However, today’s referenced scripture emphasizes the importance of accountability, even in private matters. This shows that our public life should align with our private life. In other words, we must be truthful and accountable even on the issues that are so private and intimate to us.
The Psalmist says that the Lord requires truth in the inward parts of our lives. This means that God expects us to be truthful and accountable in every aspect of our lives. We should not shirk in being responsible for our actions, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem.
Therefore, taking responsibility for our actions, both in public and private life, is essential. We must not evade accountability or blame others for our mistakes. Instead, we should strive to be truthful and accountable in all that we do.
Prayer
Oh Lord, my Heavenly Father, I come before You today to ask for Your guidance and strength to live a life that is accountable to You, both in my public and private life. I pray all of this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
