Leviticus 15:4 NLT
”Any bed on which the man with the discharge lies and anything on which he sits will be ceremonially unclean.“
What kind of an influencer are you?
As human beings, we have a remarkable ability to influence the world around us. Every time we touch or interact with something, we leave a mark on it, shaping its future somehow. Whether we realize it or not, our actions and behaviour impact the people and things we encounter. The question is, what kind of impact do we want to have?
It’s important to remember that our impact is not limited to our physical actions. Our words and thoughts can have just as much, if not more, impact. It’s up to us to decide what kind of energy we want to put into the world.
In the scripture referenced, the Lord explains that even if a man who is defiled sleeps on a bed – whether it is new or not – the bed becomes ceremonially unclean. This shows us that our actions have consequences beyond our immediate surroundings.
As Christians, we have a responsibility to consider our impact on others. When we interact with others, do we leave them feeling uplifted and inspired, or do we bring them down? Do we foster a sense of community and togetherness, or do we cause division and discord? Friends, we cannot just live our lives anyhow. Your body is the Temple of the Lord; if it is defiled, it will defile other things.
The Lord’s instruction reminds us to be mindful of our behaviour and take steps to improve ourselves. We must not leave a sour taste after our interactions. As Christians, we are called the salt of the earth, bringing flavour and zest to our interactions with others. Let’s make sure that everything we do and say reflects this calling.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will live to bring glory to You and pass on the torch of holiness to everyone I encounter. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
