Leviticus 14:57 NLT
This procedure will determine whether a person or object is ceremonially clean or unclean. “These are the instructions regarding skin diseases and mildew.”
His call, not mine
In the first part of the referenced scripture, the Lord asserted that the procedure He instructed determines what is ceremonially clean or unclean. By extension, the Lord emphasized that only the procedure He has outlined should be used; no human input is necessary, and no shortcuts are allowed. Furthermore, the instructions are not region-specific, meaning they apply to everyone equally and the length and breadth of the promised land. No one can circumvent the process or use their status to gain an advantage, regardless of their position or influence.
The lesson to be learned from this scripture is that there is a procedure that God will use to determine whether we are worthy of His kingdom, and it is through Jesus. In John 3, verses 16-18, our Lord and Saviour said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
Friend, have you made Jesus your Lord and Saviour? By accepting Him into your life, you can rest assured that you are worthy of His kingdom and have eternal life.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray that I will not be found wanting when You shall decide who is worthy of Your kingdom. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
