Today’s referenced scripture made an important point. It reveals that no contaminated stone can retain its position. Such stones will lose their positions, and other stones will take over. The passage highlights the importance of understanding that no one is indispensable.
Friends, whatever position you hold in the vineyard, guard it jealously and perform your duty such that the King of Glory will be pleased. Don’t harbour anything that can put others’ positions at risk. We are connected; hence, let’s not do anything that will affect our collective existence.
Remember that only Achan sinned, but the entire house of Israel bore the brunt, and even when it became apparent that he did it, his whole household became history in Israel.
As followers of Christ, we should always strive to perform our duties to the best of our ability, knowing that we’re not irreplaceable. We should also avoid anything that could contaminate us, whether sinful behaviour or negative influences. By doing so, we can continue to fulfill our responsibilities and bring glory to God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me not to engage in activity that will make You replace me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
