Leviticus 14:39-40 NLT
”On the seventh day the priest must return for another inspection. If he finds that the mildew on the walls of the house has spread, the priest must order that the stones from those areas be removed. The contaminated material will then be taken outside the town to an area designated as ceremonially unclean.“
Love others
As Christians, we are called to love God and His people. However, the Bible teaches us that it is impossible to claim to love God, whom we haven’t seen if we hate our brothers and sisters, whom we see every day. Therefore, we are expected to love our neighbours as ourselves. But how can we show love to our neighbours? Today’s scripture reference provides an answer.
The passage teaches us that just because we have experienced sour grapes, i.e., unpleasant experiences, does not mean we should make others taste the same. The Lord instructed the priests to take the contaminated materials outside the town and to an area designated as ceremonially unclean. This shows that we should not only remove negative influences from our lives but also ensure that we do not infect others with the same negativity.
Therefore, we should not make others experience any unpleasant situations under any circumstances. We must rid our hearts of unfriendliness, bitterness, and resentment towards others. Instead, we should show our neighbours love, kindness, and compassion. We can do this by being considerate of their feelings, needs, and desires. We should also be willing to help and support them whenever we can.
In conclusion, loving our neighbours as ourselves is not just a suggestion but a commandment from God. Therefore, let us show love and kindness to everyone we meet and strive to influence their lives positively.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, please help me love others, even when things are not going in the direction that I do not work. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
