Leviticus 14:39-40 NLT
”On the seventh day the priest must return for another inspection. If he finds that the mildew on the walls of the house has spread, the priest must order that the stones from those areas be removed. The contaminated material will then be taken outside the town to an area designated as ceremonially unclean.“

Thy will be done, O God
Today’s referenced scripture contains a word that is repeated twice. This word, i.e., must, when used, implies that the instruction given cannot be postponed or overlooked, and the task at hand cannot but be performed within a specific timeframe. We can learn from this that some things in life require immediate attention, and we must prioritize them accordingly.

Another critical insight from this passage is that we must make God’s words our bond. God’s instructions are not mere suggestions; they are commands that we must follow diligently. In the previous verse, the Lord instructed the priest to quarantine a building with the likelihood of mildew contamination for seven days.

Given the enormity of the priest’s responsibility, one could excuse him if some tasks fall through the cracks. However, the Lord instructed that the priest must return on the seventh day, which means he cannot forget or postpone the exercise regardless of when the seventh day falls. Even if it falls on the Sabbath day, the priest must carry out the instruction. This shows us that God’s will must always be done.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me not be tired of doing Your will. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
