”He will dip his right finger into the oil in his palm and sprinkle some of it seven times before the Lord.“
Before the Lord
God is a loving and merciful God who desires the best for His people. He never sets anyone up for failure, especially those who work in His path. In fact, God is so gracious that He gives explicit instructions on how to accomplish any task that He assigns to His people.
The instruction mentioned in today’s scripture was just one of many instructions that the Lord gave to the priest. God laid out clear terms for what the priest should do. The Lord required the priest to perform the purification rite in a specific way, which included sprinkling the blood seven times on the person who had been healed.
The Lord’s instructions were intended to guide the priest in performing his duties in a way that pleased God and brought blessing to the people. Friends, the same principle applies to us today. Jesus has communicated what He desires from us. If we love Him, we must demonstrate it by following His instructions. Therefore, let us all strive to diligently follow the Lord’s instructions, whether easy or difficult, convenient. When we obey the Lord, we will experience His blessings and glorify Him through our obedience.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for all Your instructions, and I pray that I will not hold back in adhering to them. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
