Leviticus 14:19-20 NLT
”Then the priest must present the sin offering to purify the person who was cured of the skin disease. After that, the priest will slaughter the burnt offering and offer it on the altar along with the grain offering. Through this process, the priest will purify the person who was healed, and the person will be ceremonially clean.“

Stand in the gap
Under the law, the officiating priest was pivotal in the purification process of someone healed from a severe skin disease. According to the scripture reference, it was the priest’s responsibility to present the sin offering, and no other person was allowed to perform the task. The priest had the power to delay the process, but their love for God did not allow them to engage in such behaviour. This illustrates the importance of strong faith and serving with love and devotion.

As followers of Christ, we are called to stand in the gap for one another, and we must not delay doing so. The priest’s actions serve as an example to us. We should strive to emulate their dedication and commitment to the purification process. The priest did not outsource any steps but wholeheartedly performed all of them. This level of dedication is something that we should aim for in our own lives.

In conclusion, the purity and restoration of the person healed from the skin disease were crucial, and the priest’s involvement played a significant role in ensuring that the process was carried out correctly. Similarly, we must be diligent, doing everything unto the Lord with the same commitment and dedication. We should be willing to go above and beyond to serve God and carry out His will.
