Leviticus 14:13 NLT
”He will then slaughter the male lamb in the sacred area where sin offerings and burnt offerings are slaughtered. As with the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest. It is a most holy offering.“
The Great Provider
Under the law, anyone healed from a skin disease was required to undergo a thorough purification exercise. As part of this exercise, the priest was required to perform a guilt sacrifice on behalf of the individual.
Interestingly, the Lord stated that this sacrifice belonged to the priest. This statement not only highlights the importance of the role of the priest but also sheds light on their daily sustenance.
The sacrifice could be performed on any day, and the priest was required to consume it. This implies that God did not call His priests to work on an empty stomach or to live a life of fasting. The priests did not have to worry about going hungry or fasting for their daily bread; God provided for them daily.
As a priest, according to the order of Christ, it is essential to remember that our service will never be in vain. We can trust in the provision of God, even when we least expect it. So, let us relax and take comfort in the fact that our needs will be met as we serve Him faithfully.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for reiterating that You are the Great Provider and do not allow Your priest to beg for bread. Please provide for me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
