Leviticus 14:10 NLT
”On the eighth day each person being purified must bring two male lambs and a one-year-old female lamb, all with no defects, along with a grain offering of six quarts of choice flour moistened with olive oil, and a cup of olive oil.“
‭‭
Purified by the Lamb
Today’s scripture passage underscores that the requirement for offerings was not optional but mandatory and compulsory for the person being purified. As expected, the person undergoing purification resided outside the camp, away from their community and any productive activities. Nevertheless, the Law required that the person being purified must still bring offerings.

The requirement to bring offerings during purification may have challenged many people. It may have been difficult for some to come up with the necessary resources to obtain the prescribed offerings. In some instances, family and friends may have had to come to the person’s aid.

It is important to note that purification under the Law was a burdensome process, both financially and logistically. However, with the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, the purification process no longer requires such exorbitant costs. Jesus’s death and resurrection have made it possible for us to be purified and made righteous before God through faith in Him. Therefore, we no longer need to bring physical offerings to be purified, as Christ’s sacrifice has paid the price for our sins and inadequacies.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for purifying me through Jesus Christ’s blood. May I never despise the finished work of salvation or substitute it with spiritual gymnastics. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
