Leviticus 13:43-44 NLT
”The priest must examine him, and if he finds swelling around the reddish white sore anywhere on the man’s head and it looks like a skin disease, the man is indeed infected with a skin disease and is unclean. The priest must pronounce him ceremonially unclean because of the sore on his head.“
Not a fishing expedition
There is no doubt that God entrusted many responsibilities to the priests. One of these responsibilities was examining people with any skin disease. If the Lord didn’t trust them, such a responsibility wouldn’t have been given to them. They were humans like you and me, yet God trusted that they would not make a mistake in their judgement. My friends, God entrusts us with responsibilities, and we must not let Him down.
Another important lesson is that God does not send anyone on a mission without providing specific instructions on what to look for before passing judgment. As long as what the Lord instructed was found, the priest must declare the affected person as ceremonially unclean without fear or favour or stay action if there was no evidence.
Finally, note that the priest must have used their eyes to see and then used their mouth to make a pronouncement. Therefore, both sensory organs must work together. Similarly, we are members of the same body and must work together to achieve divine purposes.
Prayer
Dear God, please help me to rely on You and Your instructions in every divine assignment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
