Leviticus 13:35-36 NLT
”But if the scabby sore begins to spread after the person is pronounced clean, the priest must do another examination. If he finds that the sore has spread, the priest does not need to look for yellow hair. The infected person is ceremonially unclean.“

Don’t ignore any red flag
Have you ever experienced a situation where something you thought was over and done with suddenly resurfaces? It can be pretty confusing and even disheartening. The question that often comes to mind is, why does this keep happening? Do you question God or His Word?

Today’s Scripture reference reveals that if a sore on the affected skin spreads even after seven days of quarantine, the priest must not ignore it. Instead, the Lord instructed the priest to do another examination. This second examination is critical because if the sore has spread, it indicates that the disease is still active and the person is still contagious.

If there is evidence that the sore has spread, the affected person must be declared ceremonially unclean. This designation means the person cannot participate in religious or social activities until the situation is resolved. Once the pronouncement is made, the ceremonially unclean person must leave the camp until the situation is resolved.

This process may seem harsh and isolating, but protecting the community from the spread of disease was necessary. It also demonstrates the importance of being vigilant and thorough in our assessments. Friends, if any uncanny situation keeps recurring in your walk with the Lord, do not ignore it.
