Leviticus 13:31 NLT
”If the priest examines the scabby sore and finds that it is only skin-deep but there is no black hair on it, he must quarantine the person for seven days.“
Quarantine the person
Isolation is never a pleasant experience. However, sometimes it becomes necessary, and we should not take it personally. Failing to understand the gravity of the situation or not knowing how to love others as we love ourselves may lead to personalizing such an experience.
One important lesson to learn from quarantine is the need for careful investigation before making decisions. The priest had to wait for seven days before making an informed decision, which means it is crucial to take time to gather all the necessary information. Wrongful pronouncements can have serious consequences that impact other people’s lives. In all that we do, it is crucial to avoid wrongful pronouncements, and such cannot be possible unless we adhere to every instruction that God provides (Deuteronomy 8:3).
Additionally, God does not show partiality to anyone. As followers of Christ, it is essential to treat everyone impartially at all times. The priest was instructed to quarantine anyone with skin conditions, regardless of their social status.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I do not want to treat anyone impartially. Please help me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
