Leviticus 11:40 NLT
“If you eat any of its meat or carry away its carcass, you must wash your clothes, and you will remain defiled until evening.”
‭‭
A bite is enough to defile
God loves us unconditionally and has granted us the gift of free will. However, this gift comes with a caveat – we are responsible for our choices and must face the consequences of our actions.

The scripture cited in this passage reveals the gift of free will and that God is fully aware of human nature and our tendency to find loopholes in His instructions. For example, some may believe that once an animal is considered clean, its meat will always remain clean, not minding if it dies from disease or strangulation. However, with the instruction given, God puts such confusion to rest.

Moreover, the passage emphasizes the importance of being responsible for what we put into our bodies, not just in terms of food but also what we allow into our hearts and minds. As Christians, we must be mindful of the messages we consume and their impact on us. Not all messages are pure and true, and we must discern what is good and what is not. We are responsible for our spiritual health and must nourish it with the right messages.

It is noteworthy that revival has become a rarity in our current times. This can be attributed to the fact that death does not beget life. Therefore, as Christians, we must choose wisely and be conscious of our choices, especially in terms of what we allow into our hearts and minds.

Prayer
Dear God, please help me avoid consuming defiling messages intentionally. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
