“If the carcass falls on seed grain to be planted in the field, the seed will still be considered clean.”
The seed will still be considered clean
In today’s Scripture, the opening word is ‘if,’ indicating that the explained event is not a routine. However, God, in His infinite wisdom, provided instructions to navigate through the situation should it occur. This highlights that God knows all possibilities associated with anything and does not leave anything to chance.
The Scripture also draws a parallel between a spring or a cistern and the seed grain to be planted in the field. Just as a spring or a cistern cannot be defiled by the carcass of any unclean animal, the seed grain to be grown in the field cannot be contaminated by the carcass of an unclean animal falling on it. It is because the uncleanliness from the carcass of an animal will only impact the external component of the seed grain, which, in turn, the earth would eventually absorb.
Furthermore, the analogy of the seed grain provides a valuable lesson for us. We must not allow any uncleanliness to define us. Just as the earth removes the uncleanliness caused by carcasses on the seed grain, we must submerge ourselves in the precious blood of the Lamb to cleanse our lives of any impurities.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please protect my seed from every and any form of contaminant. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
