Leviticus 11:32 NLT
“If such an animal dies and falls on something, that object will be unclean. This is true whether the object is made of wood, cloth, leather, or burlap. Whatever its use, you must dip it in water, and it will remain defiled until evening. After that, it will be ceremonially clean and may be used again.”
Dip it in water
In today’s referenced scripture, God demanded that the owner of any of the listed items that the remains of an unclean animal fall on must exhibit responsibility by dipping it in water. It is worth noting that water was a scarce commodity in the desert where the Israelites lived at that time. Therefore, the object’s owner might have to go through a lot of hassle to find water for cleansing purposes.
You and I do not have to go through hassle whenever we err because the rebirth that anyone desires is in Jesus, and He is readily available to everyone who believes in Him. He is non-exclusive, and there is no stress involved in accessing Him. The rebirth requires living according to the dictates of His Word, for the scripture says that no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.
To be born of water with the word means to hear and obey the Word of God. We must give room for the word to germinate and bring forth fruit unto repentance. Waiting until evening symbolizes the need for patience and perseverance in our walk with God.
In conclusion, Jesus is the water of life that can wash away our sins and give us a new life in Him. Let us, therefore, strive to live according to His Word and be born of water and Spirit.
Prayer
Dear God, I surrender my heart to You. Please allow Your word to permeate and saturate my being so that I may produce fruit through repentance and continue to walk with You every day of my life. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
