Leviticus 11:20 NLT
“ All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be regarded as unclean by you.”
If God says it is unclean, it is unclean
God is an all-knowing being who possesses complete knowledge of all He has created. Consequently, nothing can escape His purview. He understands the nature of land animals, marine creatures, air creatures, and even small creatures such as insects and knows whether they are good or bad for food choices. In today’s referenced scripture, God instructed the people of Israel not to consume flying insects that move on all fours. But why?
One possible reason is the unclean environments where these insects reside. Another one is that they feed on things that contain harmful bacteria and viruses. Thus, consuming them could lead to health complications. This instruction is one of the many examples of how God is concerned about the physical well-being of His people. It is a reminder that God wants us to partner with Him by taking care of our bodies and making wise choices regarding our diet and nutrition.
Friends, trusting in God is not only crucial in complex life situations but also in mundane matters such as food choices. He has promised us a long and healthy life, but we must also play an active role in ensuring that we do not feed our bodies with anything that could harm us. Ultimately, we can trust in God to guide us in all aspects of our lives, including our physical health.
Prayer
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for always guiding me. Please help me make choices that align with Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
