“They will always be detestable to you. You must never eat their meat or even touch their dead bodies.”

In any healthy relationship, respecting boundaries is crucial, extending beyond human interactions. Did you know that God also respects people’s boundaries? This is evident in the book of Revelation when Jesus says, “Look! I’m standing at the door and knocking. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” By knocking at the door, Jesus shows He acknowledges the importance of seeking permission before entering another’s space.
The scripture referenced today instructs that consuming marine animals without scales and fins is detestable to the people of Israel. It is essential to note that this instruction was given only to the people whom God orchestrated their release from slavery. When God enters anyone’s life, He takes away lifestyles that may hinder His blessings. Therefore, just as the Lord declared the consumption of marine animals without scales and fins detestable to the Israelites, there are some things that you should no longer do as a member of God’s kingdom. You must avoid actions or behaviours that go against God’s teachings and may hinder your spiritual growth.

Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to live according to Your injunction for my life. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
