Leviticus 10:17 NLT
“Why didn’t you eat the sin offering in the sacred area?” he demanded. “It is a holy offering! The Lord has given it to you to remove the guilt of the community and to purify the people, making them right with the Lord.”
‭‭
What are you insinuating?
If we care about our relationships with others, one step cannot be overemphasized. The step requires we never bottle any assumption moderating our views about any situation. Bottling up of assumptions increases the risk of misunderstanding or false beliefs. Today’s referenced scripture exemplifies this principle in action, as Moses expressed his disappointment with Eleazar and Ithamar for not consuming the goat designated for the sin offering.

A likely reason for Moses’s displeasure was that he thought they decided not to eat their portion of the offering to provoke the Lord’s wrath against the assembly of Israel. How could Moses have such a mindset? Do not forget that Moses was a human and was not always in the spirit. In addition, his insinuation might have been shaped by what he had seen happen. However, Moses did have the courage to question Eleazar and Ithamar about their actions and to seek an explanation for their behaviour.

This demonstrates the importance of speaking one’s mind and asking questions when you don’t understand something. At the same time, it is equally essential to remain open-minded and accepting of the answers you receive, regardless of whether they match your assumptions or expectations. By communicating effectively and seeking to understand one another, we can build stronger, healthier relationships based on mutual respect and trust.

Prayer
Dear God, I pray for the strength never to hold back any questions I may have regarding how a fellow brother conducts their divine work. I ask for the courage to test any assumptions I may have. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
