“And you must teach the Israelites all the decrees that the Lord has given them through Moses.”
Teach the Israelites all the decrees
The ordination of Aaron and his descendants was not solely to perform sacrifices but also to serve as teachers and guides to the Israelites. It was their responsibility to impart the decrees of the Lord given to Moses to all Israelites without any discrimination based on age, gender, socioeconomic status, or tribe. This mandate required them to teach everyone without exception or favouritism.
To be effective teachers, Aaron and his descendants had to be willing to learn from Moses. They needed to understand the decrees they were teaching so that they could impart knowledge effectively. The instruction also emphasized that the curriculum was fixed and required no human input. Therefore, Aaron and his descendants had to adhere to the decrees given to Moses, regardless of whether they aligned with current trends or not.
As believers, we are called to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all nations. This mandate requires us to do so without any spiritual gymnastics or engaging in any form of manipulation. It is a calling that we must fulfill without any discrimination or bias. May we all strive to fulfill this noble calling with diligence and a deep sense of responsibility.
Prayer
Dear God, I pray that I will not only teach the Good News with my words but also my actions and demeanour. Please help me, God. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
