Leviticus 9:3 NLT
“Then tell the Israelites, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, and take a calf and a lamb, both a year old and without defects, for a burnt offering.”
‭‭
Then tell the Israelites
In today’s scripture passage, we are given a glimpse into the relationship between Moses and Aaron and how their roles as leaders of the Israelites were defined. Despite Aaron’s ordination as the High Priest, we see that he did not let this newfound authority go to his head. He exercised his power with humility and obedience, following the clear instructions given to him by Moses. This underscores the importance of following divine commands rather than acting on our own impulses.

Furthermore, Aaron’s role as God’s representative is highlighted in this passage. Prior to his ordination, it was Moses who was responsible for communicating all divine commands to the Israelites. However, once Aaron and his sons had been ordained, Moses stepped back and became invisible. This is why he directed Aaron to deliver the message to the Israelites instead of doing it himself. This shows us that as followers of Christ, we must be willing to step back and allow others to take on tasks that have been assigned to them by the Lord. We should not seek to take on responsibilities that are not meant for us.

Finally, this passage reminds us of the importance of offering our full support to those who are in a position to assist others with their tasks. Just as Aaron followed Moses’ instructions, we, too, must be willing to assist and support those who are working to carry out God’s will. By doing so, we can help to build a community of believers who are united in their commitment to following God’s commands and serving one another.

Prayer
Dear God, I humbly seek Your guidance in cultivating humility within me. May I always be open to yielding to those You have chosen for specific tasks, enabling them to excel. With faith in Your son Jesus, I offer this prayer. Amen.
