Leviticus 8:36 NLT
“So Aaron and his sons did everything the Lord had commanded through Moses.”
Let no familiarity breed contempt
Throughout the annals of history, it has been noted that individuals tend to take those they know well for granted. This is a phenomenon that even Jesus Christ himself acknowledged, stating that prophets are revered everywhere except in their own communities. In today’s scripture, we witness a remarkable display of respect towards Moses by Aaron and his sons, who diligently followed the Lord’s instructions that came through him. In a world that often disregards the importance of obeying God’s will, we, too, can aspire to be exceptional. Aaron and his sons did not judge Moses based on his turbulent past; instead, they probably based their compliance on his present relationship with God. It is crucial to remember that our past mistakes do not define us, and our past accomplishments alone cannot convince others to heed our message. We must strive for inner purity, as Moses did, so that we may effectively communicate the Good News of the Lord. Let us all work towards cultivating a robust relationship with God that will manifest in our conduct and impact those around us positively.
Prayer
Dear God, I pray that I will always follow Your word obediently throughout my life. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
