Leviticus 8:18 NLT
“Then Moses presented the ram for the burnt offering. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the ram’s head,”
Watch out
As we embark on our spiritual journey, we must maintain our zeal and fervour in executing tasks in God’s kingdom. However, it is equally important to exercise caution and not become too engrossed in our pursuits to the point of neglecting crucial instructions. Moses, a devout follower of God, comprehended this delicate balance and was assiduous in fulfilling his duties. For instance, even though it was his duty to present the ram as a burnt offering, he refrained from laying his hands on its head, acknowledging that it was not his place to do so. Moreover, he demonstrated respect for the roles of others, such as Aaron and his sons, by allowing them to perform their duties without interference. This attitude of comprehension and collaboration is of utmost significance as members of the same body. By recognizing our unique roles and responsibilities, we can avoid impeding others from carrying out their divine tasks. When Aaron and his sons placed their hands on the ram, it not only symbolized the forgiveness of their sins but also demonstrated their faith. We must never forget that without the cleansing power of Jesus Christ, we cannot confidently enter into God’s presence.
Prayer
Dear God, thank you for allowing me to work in Your kingdom. But I pray that my efforts are not in vain. Please help me overcome any iota of overzealousness in me. I pray all this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
