Leviticus 7:32-33 NLT
“Give the right thigh of your peace offering to the priest as a gift. The right thigh must always be given to the priest who offers the blood and the fat of the peace offering.”
…to the priest as a gift
In today’s scripture, we learn about the proper protocol for presenting the right thigh of an animal offered as a peace offering. According to God’s instructions, the offeror must gift the right thigh to the priest who offered the blood and fat of the peace offering. It is noteworthy that God did not require the right thigh to be sold, burned, stored, or exchanged, but instead, it was to be gifted to the priest. This gift was not intended as compensation for the priest’s time and effort, which were solely God’s to provide.
Moreover, it is essential to understand that the priests did not lobby for their needs. God always provided for them without their knowledge, and this practice was consistently followed. When God calls someone to work for Him, He takes care of them with dignity, ensuring they have everything they need to fulfill their duties. Therefore, it is essential to trust in God’s providence and have faith that He will always provide for His servants.
Prayer
Oh gracious Father, in times of old, You had already provided for the needs of Your servants, even before priests were established. Please help me comprehend that Your plans for my present and future necessities have already been crafted. I humbly make this request in the name of Jesus. Amen.
