Leviticus 7:19 NLT
“Meat that touches anything ceremonially unclean may not be eaten; it must be completely burned up. The rest of the meat may be eaten, but only by people who are ceremonially clean.”
Ceremonially clean
It is noteworthy to mention that in the Old Testament, sacrifices were permissible on any day except for the Sabbath. Furthermore, the priests were not obligated to fast, as the portion that belonged to them had to be consumed on the same day as the sacrifice. In today’s scripture, God clarifies that only those who are ceremonially clean are allowed to partake in the meat of the peace offering and that it does not confer any advantage. However, it is crucial to keep in mind that this does not solidify God’s covenant with man. That being said, those who participate in Holy Communion and consume the flesh of Jesus have eternal life, as stated in John 6:53-56. Therefore, there is no reason to hesitate in consuming the true flesh, as it is the only way to remain in Him and Him in us.
Prayer
Dear God, I don’t just want to appear clean on the outside. I pray for Your guidance in cleansing me from the inside out as You desire truth in the inward parts. I ask for Your help through Jesus Christ. Amen.
