Leviticus 6:14 NLT
“These are the instructions regarding the grain offering. Aaron’s sons must present this offering to the Lord in front of the altar.”
Stay on your lane
God called Aaron and his sons to ministry; however, they didn’t have the same responsibilities or tasks. The implication is that none of them was overburdened or underloaded with functions. Since the tasks assigned to Aaron differed from his sons, it can be asserted that God allowed the division of labour. Yet his sons were not required to understudy him because working in God’s vineyard is not hereditary. The fact that the father is leading today does not mean the son should be prepped to step in tomorrow. Like Aaron’s sons, let everyone focus on the task assigned, whatever it might be. The use of the word “must” means it is non-negotiable. Regarding the instruction in today’s referenced scripture, no one can help, aid, or volunteer to perform the task assigned to Aaron’s sons. As long as the law existed, Aaron’s sons and their descendants presented the grain offering to the Lord. Let’s be proud of whatever task God gave us, and let’s endeavor to train our posterity to do likewise.
Prayer
Guide me, great Jehovah, to do what is right in Your sight. In Jesus’s name, amen.
