Leviticus 5:19 NLT
“This is a guilt offering, for you have been guilty of an offense against the Lord.”
Unto Jesus I surrender
The book of Leviticus encapsulates the procedures for different types of offerings to appease God. To date, we have uncovered five offerings, and these are burnt offerings, grain offerings, peace offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings. Each is different in the type of materials needed to conduct and the conditions that necessitated it. The process of erasing guilt required a ram with no defects. The offender cannot use anyone’s ram but theirs. Another notable insight is that offence that resulted was unintentionally committed. A guilt offering is required if a person forgets to bring tithe or fails to use it as the Lord prescribes in the scripture. The guilt offering was not a one-time offering. Under the law, each time a person unintentionally violates one of the Lord’s commands regarding care for strangers, the poor, and widows, or about the harvesting of crops. Under the law, did you know that farmers must not cultivate the ground during the year of jubilee? Likewise, the Lord forbids selling parcels of land permanently, and the farmers must not reap or eat what grows of itself. The laws were so much, no wonder God demanded that they tie them to their hands, write them on door posts, and impress them on their children at all times (Deuteronomy 6:6-9). Notwithstanding, the people under the law still violated the Lord’s commands. As strict as Saul was, he was guilty under the law. Friends, in Jesus, we are free from the burden of the abovementioned laws. Why not surrender your life to Him if you have not done it?
Prayer
All to You, Jesus, I surrender my life. Please accept my prayers. In Your holy name, I pray. Amen.
