Leviticus 4:32 NLT
“If the people bring a sheep as their sin offering, it must be a female with no defects.”
A female sheep
Today’s referenced scripture is a combination of truth. First, it reveals that God is not heavy-handed. God doesn’t force, yet He can work with one’s plan. Unlike verse 28 of Leviticus 4, in the current verse, God did not hand down the type of sacrificial animal. God knew that people might want to choose different kinds of animals, and He had no objection to such because He was and is accommodating. Note what the scripture says, “If the people bring a sheep.” God didn’t say that the priests should reject it; instead, He asserted that it must be taken as long as the sheep was a female with no defect. Friends, if God wasn’t choosy under the law but could bend over to modify the people’s choice to His tastes, what tells you and me that He wouldn’t do much more under the new testament? By accepting female sheep with no defect, God made the field a level playing one for whoever might want to restore their relationships with Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Lord, please build around me the walls of Your protection so I don’t move away from Your presence. In Jesus’s name, amen.
