Leviticus 4:4 NLT
“He must bring the bull to the Lord at the entrance of the Tabernacle, lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter it before the Lord.”
No backroom deals
The scripture says that God does not show favouritism (Acts 10:34). The more reason HE didn’t excuse the high priest’s sin, even if it were accidental. Today’s referenced scripture asserts that should the high priest sin; God instructed that he must bring the young bull through the entrance of the Tabernacle. In other words, God does not entertain backroom deals. Like anyone, the high priest must impute his sin on the animal by placing his hands on its head. But until the slaughtering of the animal occurred before the Lord, the atonement process had not begun. The animal’s death indicates that death is the reward for sin, even unintentional sin. The fact that the high priest who committed an accidental sin must go through redemption means that sins of ignorance need forgiveness. Friends, no sin gets a pass regardless of one’s spiritual status hence let’s be mindful of how we live our lives.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You do not joke with any sin. Please keep me from presumptuous sin and let them not prevail over me. As for my sin, please remember the finished work of Jesus on the Cross at Calvary and forgive me, amen.
