Leviticus 3:17 NLT
“You must never eat any fat or blood. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation, wherever you live.”
Never means never!
The scripture says that God is mindful of us and always thinks about us (Psalm 8:4-5). Although our unbecoming situations or life events might tell us the opposite, the truth is that God never changes, and the same applies to His attributes (Malach 3:6). He gives instructions for our benefit and never vice versa. In today’s referenced scripture, God instructed that blood and fat must never be consumed by the Israelites. The instruction wasn’t just for a particular generation but for all ages. Before the medical profession discovered that eating blood is risky for one’s health, however, God had already forbidden the children of Israel from embarking on such exercise. Whether all of them complied with the instruction is another thing. The lesson for you and me is that God loves the Israelites; otherwise, He would have hidden the information. In the same vein, God loves us, but do we love ourselves, not to mention whether we love Him in return?
Prayer
Almighty God, please help me to consistently abstain from what You detest. In Jesus’s name, amen.
