Leviticus 2:6 NLT
“Break it in pieces and pour olive oil on it; it is a grain offering.”

Break it into pieces
Regardless of the object of sacrifice, God’s instruction about them is the same. For instance, God instructed that bullocks, sheep, or goats for the burnt offering be cut into pieces. God gave the same instruction about grain offering, He demanded that it be broken into pieces. So what is the essence of splitting them into pieces? Why couldn’t God accept them in one piece? Breaking the object for sacrifice into pieces connotes the heart of the offeror. In Psalm 51, David noted that the sacrifice of God is a broken spirit. Thus, whatever we want to offer before God must be provided with joy and not under compulsion or fear motivated. Also, we must ensure it also aligns with what God wants. In other words, you can not offer God what does not belong to you.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I bring my sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving before You. Please graciously accept them. In Jesus’s name, amen.
