Leviticus 1:10 NLT
“If the animal you present as a burnt offering is from the flock, it may be either a sheep or a goat, but it must be a male with no defects.”
No defects
In Leviticus 1: 2, God gave the Israelites the option to choose an animal from the herd of cattle or flock of sheep and goats for a burnt offering. And it showed that God wasn’t picky with them. The subsequent verses reveal how the burnt offering should be carried out when a bullock is chosen. However, starting from verse ten, i.e., today’s referenced scripture, God gave instructions on how to use a sheep or a goat for a burnt offering. Just as God had instructed in the case of anyone wanting to use a bullock for a burnt offering, so did He require that whoever chose to use a sheep or a goat for the same purpose ensured that it had no defect. The implication is that we are all equal before God. Friends, whether or not your offering to the Lord is small, ensure that it is without blemish. Don’t give anything to God grudgingly.
Prayer
King of glory, please help me so I may give to You with a grateful heart. In Jesus’s name, amen.
