Exodus 40:30 NLT
“Next Moses placed the washbasin between the Tabernacle and the altar. He filled it with water so the priests could wash themselves.”
Filled it with water
God expects us to be selfless in our walk with Him. In other words, our engagement in any endeavor must not be based on what we stand to gain but on what we can add positively to other people’s lives. In today’s referenced scripture, Moses carried out two tasks. First, he placed the washbasin in the appropriate position, and he didn’t outsource the task or force anyone to do it on his behalf. Secondly, the scripture says that Moses filled the washbasin with water. According to the scripture, he wasn’t the direct beneficiary of the exercise. Moses filled the washbasin for the priests to use. If Moses wasn’t selfless, he might not have attended to the task, or he could have probably done it haphazardly, which implied that the washbasin would have some water in it but not to the brim. Dear friends, as followers of Christ, you and I cannot but be selfless in our worship.
Prayer
Everlasting King, please help me to remain selfless in everything I do. In Jesus’s name, amen.
