Exodus 40:15 NLT
“Anoint them as you did their father, so they may also serve me as priests. With their anointing, Aaron’s descendants are set apart for the priesthood forever, from generation to generation.”
As you did for their father
God is well known for His consistency. He never partially provides the rich with better rainfall and offers droplets to the poor. God gives the same quantity of rain to all. And the same thing for everything He does. As God’s children, He expects us not to be partial in our endeavors to everyone. Perhaps that was why He emphasized that Moses anointed Aaron’s sons like he anointed their father. In other words, God didn’t want Moses’s vigor to ebb or be pumped in the process of anointing the sons of Aaron. The anointing was symbolic because it sealed the divine calling on their descendants. No wonder God instructed that it must be at par with their father’s. Thus, Moses selflessly carried out the instruction to please God. Dear friends, God cares about how His instructions are carried out by each of us. Therefore, let us be meticulous in carrying them out.
Prayer
King of glory, please help to always remain within the confines of Your divine instructions. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
