Exodus 40:13 NLT
“Dress Aaron with the sacred garments and anoint him, consecrating him to serve me as a priest.”
Serve me as a priest
Although Aaron was old enough to dress by himself, nonetheless, God instructed Moses to take care of that part. The instruction was necessary so that Aaron would not put the cart before the horse. With the instruction, God showed that He cares for whoever serves Him. All the exercises conducted by Moses for Aaron were primarily for one purpose – for Aaron to serve Him as a priest! Aaron was a priest but not the priest which suggested that there would be others after him, even while he served. For everything that Aaron did, God expected them to sync with the responsibilities of his office, and more importantly, they were to be performed just for Him alone; hence the clause, serve me as a priest. Friends, you are part of the priesthood established by Jesus Christ; therefore, ensure to serve Him alone and at all times.
Prayer
Faithful Father, give me the grace to serve You faithfully. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
