Exodus 39:19-20 NLT
“Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the inside edges of the chest piece next to the ephod. Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the front of the ephod, below the shoulder-pieces, just above the knot where the decorative sash was fastened to the ephod.”
Took heat for God
In the previous verse, the activity required that the artisans tie up some materials, and all of them did it harmoniously. None of the artisans was found wanting. And even when the requirement changed to something else, these artisans did it without complaining. Whatever the job required, the artisans gave it. The task reported in the referenced scripture cannot come to fruition without using gold. We might not know how intense the job of making a gold ring is until we put it into perspective. In making the gold rings, these artisans worked like goldsmiths. A traditional goldsmith does not take gold out of the furnace, except his reflection appears on it. In other words, these artisans subjected themselves to intense heat to ensure God’s will came to pass. Friends, can you take heat for God?
Prayer
My Father and my God, I pray that I will selflessly follow You. Please, let the Holy Spirit always remind me of my commitment. In Jesus’s name, amen.
