Exodus 39:5 NLT
“The decorative sash was made of the same materials: finely woven linen embroidered with gold and with blue, purple, and scarlet thread, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.”
Just as the Lord had commanded Moses
Like the garments, the decorative sash required finely woven linen embroidered with gold as well as blue, purple, and gold thread. Kudos to Bezalel for not mixing and matching the materials but ensuring consistency. The scripture stated that Bezalel made these items per the Lord’s instructions. Friends, walking in the light of the Lord’s instructions is pertinent to our lives. In addition, we must not give room for multiple directions. Bezalel did hear from God, but he chose to align with the instructions God gave through Moses. Relationships sometimes flounder when we refuse to follow God’s instructions passed to the “Moses” in our families, churches, and marital life. Dear friends, Bezalel was a hero who followed all of the instructions to details without faulting them; he had every excuse to say – after all, God has endowed me with perfect skills to do it, and I can choose to be creative about it! But he didn’t condescend on the instructions God gave to Moses; rather, he followed it to the letter.
Prayer
My Father and my God, please help me not be wise in my own understanding but to follow Your lead and instructions through whoever You have chosen to direct me. In Jesus’s name, amen.
